About Me

I'm Robyn, and since before I can remember, I've been telling stories. As I got older, it made sense to see if I could make a living by doing so, and so I studied a degree in journalism, with a focus on writing, filming and editing for video.

Since then, I've worked in several storytelling spaces, including copywriting for a non profit, copywriting and social media for an advertising agency, technical writing, marketing and team leading for an online gaming software company, and creative content producing, copywriting, scripting and event moderating for an international automotive company.

Essentially, I'm a professional creative and nosey parker.

All these roles have given me insight into how powerful storytelling can be. Everyone has fantastic stories, unique abilities, and inherent value, but not everyone knows how to tell their stories, put words to their abilities, and believe in their value.

What is Career Stories?

I started Career Stories as a side project, helping friends and family who were stuck in tough positions at work.

I've been there myself, many a time, in a space where I felt stuck in dead end jobs, didn't know what I wanted out of my career, and ended up totally losing confidence. I wanted to help others regain their power and feel confident enough to step into a new job or totally new career with the confidence and evidence to tell their own stories.

Since then, it's grown exponentially, and I've worked with clients across the world (so far I've helped people in Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, the US, the UK and the Netherlands) to help them not just create CVs and cover letters, but get out of feeling stuck, figure out their superpowers, and create a strategy to both tell and control their career story.

Can I land you your dream job?

No. I can't promise you your dream job, though I wish I could.

I do promise you that through working with me, you'll feel stronger, more motivated, and will have all the tools you need to get that dream interview and nail it when you're in there. The rest is up to you.

Fresh content, delivered

I write a lot, for work and for fun. I'd love you to sign up to stay updated when I post a new blog.  I always try to keep them short, entertaining and useful. It'll also keep you in the loop when I release special offers or new packages.

I'm also a full time employee at a fantastic company, the wife of a super smart Staff Software Engineer, a mum of the coolest toddler in the world, and mum-to-be to another little chickpea. Hands full, coffee cup empty.
